  • molasses

  • salad oil
    salad oil1 cup
  • sugar
    sugar1 cup
  • soda
    soda2 teaspoons
  • water
    water1.5 cups
  • flour
    flour2 cups
  • ginger
    ginger1 teaspoon
  • cinnamon
    cinnamon1 teaspoon
Instructions

Step 1

Mix molasses, salad oil, sugar, spices and salt.

Step 2

Add eggs and beat.

Step 3

Add soda which has been dissolved in 1/8 cup boiling water and stir.

Step 4

Add flour and rest of water. Batter will be thin.

Step 5

Pour in 9"x13" pan.

Step 6

Bake at 350 degrees until done.

Step 7

Serve either hot or cold. May add Glaze.

Step 8

GLAZE: 1 stick butter, 1/4 cup milk and 1 cup brown sugar.

Step 9

Mix all together and bring to boil. Boil for about 4 minutes.

Step 10

Drizzle over gingerbread.
